Services Provided
Children diagnosed with autism, developmental delay or language disorder learn differently to other children. They need a systematic and structured approach to learn how they connect with the world.
Children with autism tend to learn better with the assistance of pictures, therefore most of my therapy incorporates pictures (eg. Boardmaker symbols, COMPIC images, photographs) to assist in both understanding and expression. My sessions are play oriented, introducing everyday language through lots of games and hands- on activities.
After an initial consultation, your child may undergo a speech and/or language assessment catering for their level of functioning. After the assessment has been completed, an initial report will be provided and a therapy program created in conjunction with you and your families’ goals for your child.
If requested, this report and therapy goals can be forwarded to your child’s child care provider, kindergarten or school.
Ongoing intervention is centered on the therapy program and may involve parent education or training.
